When my wife and I made the decision we were going to sell our home, our intention was to interview a few realtors and pick the one we thought would be best for us. We are experienced buyers and sellers of real estate for the last 30 years. Our first (and turns out only) interview was with Ken MacAulay. I went to ReMax for a number of reasons, one they are a very well-known reputable company (2) I know the representatives as they are exceptionally professional and trustworthy and (3) trust is a huge requirement for me as I am a single mom and unfortunately for some they think we are a pushover. However, I am not that oblivious to the real estate market as this wasn’t my primary home I was selling. They say it is wise to get two quotes and in this case, it definitely was. I had two reps come to look at the house to give me a quote and fortunately I knew what the house was worth, but I needed the numbers from the professionals before I made my decision as to which one was going to do the job right for me. First rep who was highly recommended from a friend quoted me a much lower asking price and they weren’t going to budge on that number. I argued my point, but they weren’t willing to bring the price up. The Second rep, Phil Lepage, with all his integrity knew exactly what that house was worth in the city of Calgary and had no intentions of taking advantage of the single mom to make a quick sale or maybe lowball, buy it himself and flip, just saying. Phil was more interested in getting me the full value of my house to make sure everyone was happy, including the buyer. Phil took the time to make a few adjustments to the house to make the house more presentable at no cost to me, things a single mom couldn’t do, like fix a few doors, drawers and other aesthetics as well. Photographs taken of the house were a real help as well. Phil sold the house with in three weeks approximately and for. Furthermore, I didn’t have to argue my point, why should I have to, Phil knows his stuff… I would highly recommend Phil Lepage and his team without a doubt.

I researched Phil's website page and thought it provided good information about selling and buying a home and their aproach. They did a great job of the market comparisons and providing all the details of selling a home.

We agreed on a selling price and listed my home. Their office did a good job of keeping me up today with the comments from the open houses and showings. As time went on we had to reevaluate the market conditions and make adjustments, which we agreed with. The end result was my home was sold for a reasonable price considering the times.

I fell upon my future home upon scanning the MLS listings online. After doing a drive by and reviewing the photos, I determined it was a perfect fit and a great deal. I attempted to contact the listed realtor with no response. Given I had already lost 2 potentials due to other’s putting an offer in first, I was concerned I would not have the opportunity to pursue the place. A good colleague and friend of mine passed on Ken MacAulay’s name and said he would make it happen for me. No more than 20 minutes later, he had organized the keys and told us to head to the house to take a look. Within 24 hours I was a home owner. Ken took care of all the necessary details, was fast moving and great to deal with. He’s a friendly, understanding and helpful guy who goes above and beyond what is expected of him. Ken has the experience and knowledge of the real estate market which allows him to provide you with his honest opinion regarding initial offerings, what he suspects you can negotiate too and where to draw the line when thinks the seller is firm. Ken has an extensive network of contacts which he will pass on for anything you require. I needed a lawyer, and he provided me with not 1 but 3 different recommendations of where to go. He provided me with assistance with home inspection as well as personal aid and suggestions for small fix it jobs within the house. Ken thinks of the small details that you (or I) didn't think of – like arranging and taking care of changing all the locks on the house. Follow up on your house purchase – Ken has followed up with me a number of times to ensure things are running smooth; and when an unexpected leak in the hot tub occurred, he was the first one there with a bottle of wine to cheer me up. Ken is a great realtor who is fast, knowledgeable, experienced and really does become your friend. I would highly recommend Ken to any friends, business associates and/or clients and to anyone reading this recommendation!
